Like most if not all of us have discovered at one time or another, the mix of color to accurately reflect its purpose can be a challenge. But learning the color goes hand in hand with learning to paint. This is why it is so crucial to deep understanding of the three main characteristics of each color: value, chroma and hue. If you do not get a precise combination of colors remain challenging, even impossible.
Worth
Value or tone, is a single light or dark color, regardless of color. Using a black and white filter to see the subject would reduce the colors you see in shades of special filter that allows you to compare the different tones. Note, however, that the value of a color or tone is affected by those around him. One aspect of dark tone, surrounded by tones light can appear when light surrounded by darker tones.
Chroma
The chroma, or saturation of a color may be considered "pure color, bright. In other words, saturation is a measure of the intensity or color is pure. Adding a neutral gray with the same value as will reduce the color saturation to be changed.
Hue
Hue The term refers to an object or a real color pigment. However, when the paint color includes color word, it means that the pigment is actually different from the one originally used that particular color. For example, the blue color cobalt is almost identical to cobalt blue, but the pigment is different.
Concluding remarks
Do not confuse with the value of saturation, or make the mistake of thinking that are the same. In considering the stock you're looking for a light or dark color, while you are with Chroma interested in purity of the color or intensity.
For painters At first it's good to take account of saturation, hue and value when starting a new painting, and its complete performance. Not only save you the frustration of mixing the wrong colors, but also help save money on paint. With experience, the color mixing process becomes more intuitive and less systematic, which makes the paint much better.
