Using charcoal pencils?
So I just bought some charcoal pencils, and I've never used before. That I can draw portraits and do not I have no idea of what different types of pencils on the average. Because I have something like a package and includes pencil, charcoal, royal, and a kneaded eraser. Pencils say white coal, 558, Charcoal 557-HB hard, 557 2B med., 557 4B soft, smooth 557-6B Ex, and the sketch 595 of soft carbon. What does this mean? What should I use for what?
It's been a while since I took art classes, but the types of charcoal used lists in different ways. It depends on what we try to make intelligent design. Is it accurate? Textures? Scheme? I guess "hard" charcoal could be used the same drawing style pencil (more accurate, or lines), while the "soft" is used to smooth the lines or fill (shading, shadows, etc.).
